Narita to Tokyo: choose the train for your hotel

A fast ride to one station is only part of the journey. Start with the hotel address, then compare the arrival station, transfers and final walk.

Two useful starting points

Tokyo or Shinjuku

The airport lists Tokyo and Shinjuku among Narita Express destinations. Check the destination of the specific departure you plan to take.

Nippori or Ueno

The airport lists Nippori and Keisei Ueno on the Skyliner route. If your hotel is elsewhere, include the onward connection in your comparison.

Match the station to your terminal

Terminal 1 uses Narita Airport Station. Terminals 2 and 3 use Airport Terminal 2·3 Station. Terminal 3 travellers should check the airport’s station-to-terminal route before setting off with bags.

Compare the whole trip

Arrival terminalUseful city stationHotel entrance
  1. Locate your hotel and identify a useful station exit.
  2. Check the actual departure and destination, not just the service name.
  3. Count transfers and consider lifts and the walk with your luggage.
  4. Recheck services after any flight delay. Keep your hotel contact details ready.

Do not choose a route on speed alone if the final transfer or walk is difficult for your group.

What if a bus fits better?

Compare its arrival stop with your hotel location and check the relevant departure for your terminal. Use the airport’s official bus guide to find the operator and current details.
